Unfortunately, asthma is a very common disease that strikes a lot of people worldwide, including children.
Most people develop asthma early in life. In some countries, 1 in 10 children have asthma. About a third of them will outgrow it before their teenage years. For some--especially for those whose symptoms were moderate to severe-- the asthma may return when they in adulthood.
Some only get asthma when they are adults. This is most commonly non-allergenic asthma since it tends to develop from repeated exposure to substances in the work place.
