NIOX MINO® Nasal
NIOX MINO Nasal mode is a Research application and can be used to determine the concentration of nitric oxide (NO) in gas aspirated from one nostril, using passive sampling.
The concept comprises of a nasal olive with tubing, which is connected to a bacterial/viral filter and a dedicated NIOX MINO Nasal software application.
Nasal NO has been studied in for example Cystic Fibrosis (CF) and Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD). According to the literature* patients with PCD have markedly lower nasal NO values than healthy individuals.

Other nasal NO measurement techniques than aspiration from one nostril have also been investigated using NIOX MINO. A method of nasal exhalations in NIOX MINO using a mask is supported by studies. Please refer to publications [19], [24], [43] and [61] on the reference page. These techniques are considered to be purely for exploratory use.
